JOB DESCRIPTION
Project Manager/
Estimator
The Project Manager's function is to
oversee and facilitate all aspects of estimating, scheduling, procurement
and construction. All estimating, scheduling and purchasing is performed
by the Project Manager, so you are dealing with someone who has
first hand knowledge of the preparation of these items. His/her
involvement in the process starts with pre-construction and continues
through job close-out and warranty management. The Project Manager
has the ability to commit the firm contractually. Devcon empowers
its Project Managers to have total control over each project. Our
Principal, Gary Filizetti can be involved as requested, or as required,
to facilitate each project.
Superintendent
The Superintendent is the direct contact
between the Project Manager and the mechanics and craftspersons
performing the individual tasks. His/her job is to implement the
plans, budget, schedule and monitor the progress on a daily basis
as well as assist with updates on critical path schedules and deliveries.
The Superintendent and Project Manager work together as a team to
ensure that each project is delivered on-time and within budget.
Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant works
in tandem with the Project Manager to ensure all administrative
& project responsibilities are met. These responsibilities range
from issuance of job numbers to monitoring timely receipt and approvals
of project submittals, change order requests and interfacing with
subcontractors, owners, architects and user groups. Administrative
Assistants are key support personnel.
Project Architect
Devcons Project Architects are
all licensed in California and are members of the Santa Clara Valley
Chapter of the AIA. One of the top priorities of the Project Architect
is to identify the functional aesthetic and budgetary requirements
of the project. Once established, the Project Architect creates
several design solutions based on these criteria. Depending on the
size and complexity of the project, the PA may be assisted by an
Interior Designer and/or Draftspersons to form a Design Team. The
Project Architect is responsible for all aspects of the project
design including code compliance, public agency approvals, the working
drawing package, and field observation. The Project Architect also
hires (with owner input, if requested) the appropriate design consultants
necessary for the project (i.e., Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer,
Landscape Architect).
Interior Designer
The Interior Designer is primarily
responsible for all aspects of designing the buildings built
interior. Devcons Interior Designers are well versed in programming,
space planning, code compliance, detailing, color and material selection
and are experienced at working within the clients budget.
The Interior Designer is responsible for running a project from
start to finish. These responsibilities also include the working
drawing package, public agency approvals, and field observation.
Depending on the size and complexity of the project, the Interior
Designer may be assisted by Draftspersons to form a Design Team.
Draftsperson
The Draftsperson assists the Project
Architect and Interior Designer in all aspects of the project. Draftspersons
are assigned to projects based on their experience level and ability
to add strength to the project team. Many of Devcons Draftspersons
have degrees in Architecture or Interior Design and are working
towards increasing their responsibilities accordingly.
