NEW MISSION CORPORATE CENTER
FEATURES TWO TOWERS, EACH WITH CIRCULAR PENTHOUSE
SANTA CLARA -- Devcon Construction
is putting the finishing touches on a two-tower project known as
Mission Corporate Center II. Located at 2811-2821 Mission College
Boulevard, the structures were developed by Sobranto Development
and commissioned by Exodus Communications to be its corporate headquarters.
Comprised of two eight-story towers
and a two-story connector building totaling 385,000 square feet,
the project was begun in October 1999 and was completed in mid-August
2001.
The twin towers feature a stone and
glass exterior facade and circular penthouses with glass windows
boasting a 360-degree view of Silicon Valley. The highlight of the
connector building is the two-story open lobby with stainless steel
staircase. In addition, there is also a plaza landscape area that
provides an amphitheater with a fountain and sloping grass.
In addition to providing contracting
services, Devcon acted as the tenant improvement architect while
Korth Sunseri Hagey Architects of San Francisco served as the shell
architect. This project is just the latest in a series of similar
or related projects recently completed by Devcon for Sobrato Development.
Among these are the Tasman Corporate Center, facilities for Verifone,
and the structure located at 2350 El Camino Real.
Milpitas-based Devcon is the largest
general building contractor based in Silicon Valley, and it maintains
a regional office in Santa Cruz to manage projects along the coast.
With building experience throughout Northern California, Devcon
has constructed industrial parks, commercial centers and landmark
office buildings, in all totaling some 35 million square feet of
shells and interiors.
