This 8,596 SF design/build two-story remodel project includes restaurant use on the first floor and office use on the second floor. The project improvements to the building, which was originally built in 1955, include removal of existing asbestos, replacement of old mechanical/electrical/plumbing equipment with modern systems, new energy efficient glazing system windows, installation of structural/seismic improvements, and a new energy efficient white roof to improve the seismic stability of the building. Project also features upgraded restrooms and entries to improve accessibility, exterior paint, replacement of sunscreens and additional exterior landscaping. The renovation improves the safety, energy efficiency and the appearance of the existing building. In addition, there are also (ADA) accessibility improvements consisting of the new stairs and restrooms, access from the public way, as well as a fire sprinkler system.
