- SCU Commons Library Tech Center
This project includes a 185,000 SF structural steel, 3-story above grade, one basement level below grade library for Santa Clara University. Project includes a grab-and-go cafe and coffee bar, data center, high-end viewing/taping rooms for student use, and four exterior terraces. The exterior skin consists of plaster, terra cotta, travertine and limestone, copper paneling, and glazing. 14" deep raised flooring system at first, second and third floors for distribution of all ductwork, electrical, data, and plumbing. This building is LEED registered and features waterless urinals and a reclaimed water system for water closets. The 2-story building, designed by Fong & Chan Architects in San Francisco, is steel-framed with a brick and precast concrete façade, to tie into the style of the campus. This project features 39,000 SF tenant improvement on the 4th floor of 3315 Scott Boulevard Building C. Improvement includes private and open offices, copy areas, meeting rooms, break rooms, two presentation rooms, an observation area, and a high-end demo space where new products are presented to customers. Additionally, a new HVAC rooftop unit was installed to supply cooling to a new server room. The main lobby includes polished concrete finish & (2) large main entry glass walls. Project includes a 3677 SF tenant improvement for a local French Bakery. Custom millwork is installed through out with two viewing areas to watch employees making pastries/bread. The bakery includes a coffee bar and outdoor patio seating. Exposed concrete floors with wood base, brass fixtures and custom pastry display cases. Devcon provided construction management services for 256 town home and apartment units accompanied with a clubhouse and pool atop retail overlooking Santana Row and Winchester Blvd. in San Jose. The three separate apartment buildings house 160 units that feature exterior stone veneers over plaster system and granite counter tops with fine cabinetry. Surrounding the three apartment buildings are the 96 town home units that also include granite counter tops, upscale interior finishes and an exotic 80 paint coloring scheme to reflect the diversity of each unit. Building 7 currently hosts Santana Heights and the Hotel Valencia. Project also consisted of three floors for parking; one below grade, one at grade level and one above grade. This project includes a ConXtech structure. - Oakland Air Traffic Control Tower
This 15,000 SF federal government air traffic control tower facility consists of a 2-story administrative building with cast-in-place concrete walls and a 236 foot tall structural steel tower with pre-cast blast panels, and insulated metal panels cladding, and high strength cab glass curtain wall system. Foundations include concrete piles, grade beams, stem walls, and slabs on grade. The landscaped site includes an AOA high security fencing/operated gate system, 660 LF of vinyl sea-wall, bio-swales, gravel pavers, electrical retractable bollards, parking canopies, and concrete paving parking lot. Also included is off-site, airport underground conduit and cabling work to tie the new ATCT into the existing airport communications system. This is a federal recovery/stimulus funded project with all required ARRA reporting. The project will receive a LEED Gold rating, which includes 200KW of solar PV panels and 95% construction waste recycling.
