This design/build project consists of 50,000 SF combined steel/metal framing and concrete tilt-up structure. The new athletics facility houses two full-size courts that serve as a dedicated practice facility for the university basketball and volleyball teams. The facility also houses an approximate 7,000 SF weight room, nutrition station, staff offices and kitchen, academic center, and 5,000 SF sports medicine center. The academic center consists of offices, conference room, and both private and collaborative study areas while the sports medicine center features training equipment, thermal and cold therapy pools, and a hydrotherapy pool for rehabilitation and fitness. This design/build project consists of approximately 120,000 SF four-story wood framed dormitory over concrete podium and 42,000 SF single-level of below grade parking garage. Project includes 184 student units, six staff apartments, offices, common lounges/break rooms, 2-story lounges and study rooms, and multi-purpose room that is almost two stories tall and features an operable partition wall, audio-visual system, and a service kitchen to host large events. The project also consists of a new air-cooled chiller plant, boiler plant, and 4-pipe fan coil units to provide heating and cooling to all student units and apartments. This 78,760 SF building features a 3-story, Type V-A, wood framed slab on grade. The complex consists of 90 affordable senior housing apartment units with service facilities at the ground floor. Project also consists of a 2-story open air community room, bike storage, laundry rooms, meeting rooms and exercise room. This project includes a fast track 11 month schedule due to federal requirements that displaced residents from the previous complex; residents needed to be moved back in within one year. Amenities include a multi-purpose building, study areas, a well-appointed lobby lounge area, open air terraces for social and private activities, flex spaces, as well as dining/kitchen areas at each floor. There are also outdoor landscaped features within the courtyards, which include a BBQ, fireplaces, and water features. This 8,596 SF design/build two-story remodel project includes restaurant use on the first floor and office use on the second floor. The project improvements to the building, which was originally built in 1955, include removal of existing asbestos, replacement of old mechanical/electrical/plumbing equipment with modern systems, new energy efficient glazing system windows, installation of structural/seismic improvements, and a new energy efficient white roof to improve the seismic stability of the building. Project also features upgraded restrooms and entries to improve accessibility, exterior paint, replacement of sunscreens and additional exterior landscaping. The renovation improves the safety, energy efficiency and the appearance of the existing building. Scope of work features three warehouses and associated site improvements with Fire Protection, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical (FPME) engineering contracted through Devcon Construction for FPME design-build delivery. Project also includes a 54,000 SF tenant improvement for a Home Depot MDO warehouse. This project consists of an 18-story high-rise tower; housing the majority of administrative offices plus a public service center on the lower three levels. This project also features a lower wing with a 4-story Council Chambers, offices and public meeting rooms, a 4-story freestanding domed rotunda, a large central plaza, and one-level of below-grade parking. This 85,000 design/build consists of a three-story building and the build-out will include a mix of 100 faculty offices, 20,000 SF of open office, full coffee bar/café, (8) classrooms, (2) seminar spaces and one large dividable (100) seat seminar space. The Leavey School of Business was designed by Devcon Architecture and built by Devcon Construction. The construction team collaborated with the design team which included design build MEPs to develop the design of the structure. The construction team was active in reviewing and commenting on details to ensure that all details were coordinated and constructible. At key milestones of document development (including 100% design drawings, 50% construction drawings and 100% construction drawings) the construction team prepared budgets to ensure that the design was within the budget constraints established by our client. Value engineering was regularly introduced to maintain control of costs and provide the client with high quality construction at the most reasonable cost. Prior to bidding the project Devcon Construction developed bid documents to thoroughly identify the required scopes of work for all trades. These scope statements were then packaged with the construction documents (including plans, specifications, soils reports) were then issued to 3 bidders for each scope of work. Each of the firms allowed to bid the project previously successfully completed projects of similar size and complexity with Devcon Construction. These firm have demonstrated high quality workmanship and sound financial condition. This project houses the collection of wooden boats and celebrates the maritime history of Lake Tahoe. Challenges include saturated site conditions, an aggressive construction schedule, and tight project space conditions along with the difficulty of building at Lake Tahoe through a winter. Project features a new 400,000 SF 20-story reinforced concrete tower, a 3-level underground parking structure that is tied into the existing underground parking structure and a one story, 10,000 SF structural steel connector building. Project consists of 184 customized senior living units ranging from 1,500 SF to 3,000 SF and includes over 365,000 SF of sitework and renovation of public areas in the existing 20-story tower. The new tower and connector building also include multiple dining venues; a new indoor pool with locker rooms, exercise rooms and hair salon; conservatory; reading, computer and billiards rooms; and a grand living room. The site was renovated to incorporate a central circular driveway with walking paths, arbors and landscaped terraces.
