Construction and architectural services for new design/build pool facility at Santa Clara University. Scope of architectural services includes existing site studies, accessibility planning, full architectural, structural and pool design and space planning for future upgrades. - SCU Stevens Stadium
New Stadium Entry Wall and Plaza – The new entry wall is approximately 350lf x 15’ tall and contains several new archway openings with decorative iron gates that serve as the main entrance into the stadium. Constructed with a combination of CMU, steel columns, metal studs and finished with lath & plaster, the top of the wall is capped with a clay tile roof element. There is also a new stand-alone sign wall constructed from CMU with precast caps and a plaster skim coat finish, located near Palm Drive and the entry walkway. The landscape along the wall and at the entrance is reworked, mostly to match existing, with new mature palm trees and tree grates. New Restroom Building – The new restroom building is approximately 1,600 SF and is constructed underneath the bleacher grandstand; it serves both men and women. The building is framed with metal stud load bearing walls to support a concrete over metal deck roof structure. The exterior is finished with lath & plaster, the interior is finished with water/mold resistant XP gyp board walls & ceilings, FRP, paint, and sealed concrete. ADA Improvements – The ADA improvements consist of removal of existing wood bleachers and hand rails at the east-side bleachers, and constructing small concrete retaining walls with new handrails that provide ADA seating areas along the concrete walkway. New Bleacher Grandstand with Elevator Tower and Press Box – The new grandstand consists of approximately 2,000 new seats, both bleachers and chair backs. There is an elevated platform supported with concrete over metal deck to house the modular press box, VIP lounge, restrooms and utility room. This platform is accessed by a new elevator tower constructed with a structural steel frame, metal stud in-fill and a lath & plaster exterior finish. - Classic Residence by Hyatt - La Jolla
This project includes the construction of an independent living facility totaling 765,000 SF. Project features a new 400,000 SF 20-story reinforced concrete tower, a 3-level underground parking structure that is tied into the existing underground parking structure and a one story, 10,000 SF structural steel connector building. Project consists of 184 customized senior living units ranging from 1,500 SF to 3,000 SF and includes over 365,000 SF of sitework and renovation of public areas in the existing 20-story tower. The new tower and connector building also include multiple dining venues; a new indoor pool with locker rooms, exercise rooms and hair salon; conservatory; reading, computer and billiards rooms; and a grand living room. The site was renovated to incorporate a central circular driveway with walking paths, arbors and landscaped terraces. Project consisting of demolition to a vacant firehouse building with the historic façade retained and incorporated into the exterior design of the apartment complex. The project features 96,835 SF construction of one 4-story wood framed (Type V-A) multifamily rental development consisting of 66 units over a single level below-grade concrete parking garage housing 47 vehicles. The residential community includes 18 studios, 12 one-bedroom units, 19 two-bedroom units, and 17 three-bedroom units. The project also includes a lobby, laundry room, community room, two property management offices, a resident services office within an extra amenity space programmed for adult classes, and an afterschool space for youth ages five to twelve years old. Finally, the development features an outdoor playground and approximately 458 SF of publicly accessible open space. This 100,000 SF project consists of a 2-story steel structure on a 200,000 SF site. The project features a mezzanine level above the second floor, an unpainted exposed steel structure supporting extensive column free space throughout, five sawtooth clerestories supported by Vierendeel trusses which provide extensive daylight and sky views to the large open workspace, and large perimeter windows protected by exterior operable blinds, providing responsive daylight and heat-gain control around the building. The project also consists of exposed board-formed precast concrete insulated panels that provide both an exterior and interior finish with benefits of thermal mass, and a diverse landscape with a public plaza, an exposed private garden, bioswales, and extensive native plantings. 1212 Bordeaux Sunnyvale, CA This 100,000 SF project consists of a 2-story steel structure on a 200,000 SF site. This 54,589 SF new library consists of a two level poured in place concrete structure with associated interior and site work improvements. Project includes library shelving space, conference rooms, a community room, quiet study rooms and a children’s room. The exterior skin consists primarily of curtainwall and plaster, while the interior makes use of high quality and durable materials including terrazzo, fabric acoustic panels, ceramic tile and anigre style wood paneling. Along with site improvements like benches, uniquely designed bike racks, vintage lighting, permeable paver walkways, pervious parking stalls and gray water irrigated landscaping, a 50,000 SF park-like pedestrian Paseo has also been created.
