This 6,500 SF design/build project consists of a new two-story building located between rinks 2, 3, and 4 on the east side of the existing facility. The structural system consists of pre-engineered steel and is seismically separated from the existing structure. The new area features locker and training facilities to house the American Hockey League relocating from the East Coast, as well as coach’s offices, fitness center, lockers, showers, skate shop and stick shop. The new area offers restricted access and is not open to the public. Sitework and landscaping is limited to the immediate surrounding area due to impact of the new building. Design/build hotel and parking garage structure featuring post-tensioned cast-in-place concrete structure including a 4-story parking garage with 360 stalls and a 7-story hotel tower consisting of 188 rooms above the garage. The hotel includes a 9,000 SF hotel lobby on the ground floor with pool/exercise facilities on the fifth level above the garage. The parking garage receives a brick veneer treatment that transitions to an EIFS skin on the hotel tower; it also features ground level retail units on three sides of the building. The project is complete with use of geothermal utility loop to serve heat exchangers for domestic hot water system and HVAC condenser water system, including expansion tanks and pumps.
