The 711,909 SF Civic Center was constructed in downtown San Jose on the south side of Santa Clara Street between 4th and 6th Streets. This project consists of an 18-story high-rise tower; housing the majority of administrative offices plus a public service center on the lower three levels. This project also features a lower wing with a 4-story Council Chambers, offices and public meeting rooms, a 4-story freestanding domed rotunda, a large central plaza, and one-level of below-grade parking. This 115,000 SF project located at the historic Harrah’s Ranch in South Reno features approximately 60,000 SF of retail/restaurants. Phase 1 includes (9) 1 & 2-story shell buildings with Napa Carneros Farmhouse architecture and pre-engineered steel structures skinned with clerestory windows, storefront glazing, and Hardie board & batten siding. Site work consists of parking lot and site utilities for the entire 15-acre project which includes 55,000 SF of plaza/courtyard gathering areas featuring site amenities such as an outdoor stage, bocce ball courts, water features, fire pits, seat walls & benches, outdoor dining areas, public restrooms, and outdoor arcades. This project includes the renovation of an additional 35,542 SF to existing the 38,000 SF library. The project includes a 23,511 SF book storage facility in three 7,737 square foot fire separated storage modules that are temperature and humidity controlled environment in mezzanines with in the modules. The module structure consists of pre-stressed precast colored and exposed aggregate concrete panel, fireproofed steel structure and in-rack pre-action fire sprinkler system. The process office expansion is 9,300 SF and consists of exposed CMU walls, curtain wall window system and clerestory glass exterior skin. Process office space also consists of temperature controlled film storage room, break room expansion, restrooms, offices and book scanning rooms. Site work includes expansion of parking lot, loop access road, landscape areas, patio, and a storm drain system to meet current C3 requirement. The McHenry Library Addition project expands and upgrades the McHenry Library located on the University of Santa Cruz campus. Project consists of a new 118,891 SF 5-story poured in place concrete addition to the existing 162,364 SF McHenry Library Building. Scope for this addition includes a complete interior build-out for immediate use upon completion. Additionally, due to the nature of this project, the work also includes modification to the existing foundations on the south and west sides of the existing Library building, modification to existing mechanical rooms in the library, and various site improvements. The core and shell scope of the project included demolition of existing building with excavation for underground parking, construction of 96,000 SF 2-story office core and shell. This project consists of a 98,000 SF tenant improvement within a new 2-story core/shell building constructed by Devcon. The project features multiple breakrooms, private and open offices, conference rooms, a telepresence room, IDF/MDF rooms and a high-end breakroom with a unique “pyramid” wood ceiling. Additionally, the project includes installation of an FM-200 fire suppression system in a file document storage room. The main lobby includes terrazzo tile flooring & a video array wall. This project features a 4,000 SF remodel of existing space within the Cecil Green Library for use as a special collections reading room. New space includes high end millwork finishes, extensive AV features, as well as rework of existing mechanical and electrical systems. Project also features new floor to ceiling wall art displays in the entirety of the 3-story stairwell. Devcon worked closely with both Stanford and David Rumsey to achieve a collaborative display space. This project includes the construction of a new 25,000 SF, 2-story steel-framed building that serves as the new home for undergraduate admissions, university financial services, the bursar, and the registrar. Project features a grand entryway to welcome prospective students and their families, a large presentation room that holds approximately 100 visitors, (9) private meeting rooms, approximately 60 administrative offices and a one stop shop to support current students. The building uniquely combines a California mission style with the latest sustainable design. The campus consists of a 576,892 SF 8-story office building, a 43,870 SF 2-story amenities building, and 2,380 SF single story welcome pavilion. The 8-story building includes conference rooms, open office areas, break areas and multi-purpose rooms. Specialty areas consists of a broadcast studio with dedicated server room, editing bays, audio visual “Experience” space with curved video walls and LED pulse wall, main server room equipped with hot aisle containment, CRAC units, security fencing and dedicated UPS room, 1st floor “Paseo” with game lounges, water feature, coffee bar, library, and music studio. Skin consists of a combination of GFRC, metal paneling/cladding, and curtainwall/storefront systems. The project features new sitework throughout, efficient MEP systems and exterior skin elements. The project has zero net energy goals and is a LEED Platinum Award Winner. At 63,500 SF, Phase 1A features new classrooms, science labs and black box theater, while Phase 1B, consisting of 62,000 SF, includes a school cafeteria with full kitchen and upper level faculty dining with outside terrace.
