Project includes 184 student units, six staff apartments, offices, common lounges/break rooms, 2-story lounges and study rooms, and multi-purpose room that is almost two stories tall and features an operable partition wall, audio-visual system, and a service kitchen to host large events. The project also consists of a new air-cooled chiller plant, boiler plant, and 4-pipe fan coil units to provide heating and cooling to all student units and apartments. The structural system consists of pre-engineered steel and is seismically separated from the existing structure. The new area features locker and training facilities to house the American Hockey League relocating from the East Coast, as well as coach’s offices, fitness center, lockers, showers, skate shop and stick shop. The new area offers restricted access and is not open to the public. Sitework and landscaping is limited to the immediate surrounding area due to impact of the new building. The entire field is turf construction, allowing for year round usage and the field is set off by its 20’ tall outfield fence covered by a full height windscreen, characterizing the field as a true arena. Continuing the impressive vertical feel, the bleacher seating is located on the roof decks of both dugouts, providing great sight lines of the action. Stadium style seat back seating behind home plate provide an incredible view as the seats are actually closer to the plate than the mound.
